Under Armour
Brand Mission
TO MAKE ALL ATHLETES BETTER THROUGH PASSION, DESIGN AND THE RELENTLESS PURSUIT OF INNOVATION.
About
It started with a simple plan to make a superior T-shirt. A shirt that provided compression and wicked perspiration off your skin rather than absorb it. A shirt that worked with your body to regulate temperature and enhance performance.
Founded in 1996 by former University of Maryland football player Kevin Plank, Under Armour is the originator of performance apparel - gear engineered to keep athletes cool, dry and light throughout the course of a game, practice or workout. The technology behind Under Armour's diverse product assortment for men, women and youth is complex, but the program for reaping the benefits is simple: wear HeatGear® when it's hot, ColdGear® when it's cold, and AllSeasonGear® between the extremes.
Under Armour’s mission is make all athletes better through passion, design and the relentless pursuit of innovation.

Under Armour and the Community
As teammates, our passion for service extends into each of the communities we inhabit. We hold many different causes near to our hearts and are deeply engaged in a variety of community organizations.
UA GiveBack stands behind its legacy partners and signature programs dedicated to finding a cure for breast cancer; environmental sustainability; supporting our military and law enforcement heroes; and empowering our youth athletes as part of our continuous effort to make all athletes and their communities better. Click HERE to learn more about Power in Pink, UA Green, UA Freedom and UA Youth Movement. We also support other organizations with our people, products and spirit.
Pink Program
Born in 2002, Under Armour's Power in Pink Program celebrates the many women who use fitness and exercise in the fight against breast cancer. The program features real survivors in a national advertising campaign, countless partnerships with non-profit organizations, high school & collegiate Power in Pink games across the country, and our unique line of high-performing Power in Pink gear.
UA Freedom™
A key component of our UA Freedom™ initiative is our partnership with the Wounded Warrior Project®. WWP's purpose is to: raise awareness and enlist the public's aid for the needs of injured service members; help injured service members aid and assist each other; and to provide unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of injured service members. Under Armour® has enlisted in this cause through financial and product support. Under Armour is a proud supporter of the Wounded Warrior Project and the military heroes it supports. We will never forget.
We recognize that the environmental footprint of our products comes from more than the raw materials used in production. We seek to improve the manufacturing, packaging, dying, printing, and other facets of our products' environmental footprint in an ongoing effort to lessen our impact on the environment. In our efforts to build green technology into the world's best performance gear, our Catalyst line of UA Green products utilizes up to 4 recycled water bottles in each piece of apparel.
Our campaign to champion youth fitness and sports will take advantage of UA's unwavering focus on training authenticity. We are working with the President's Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition and are committed to providing our UA Youth Athletes with places to become champions. A staple of our Youth Movement initiative is our commitment to giving children places to play through our basketball court and playing field refurbishments. We have renovated basketball courts in Compton and Baltimore, and are committed to creating an all-purpose playing field at Baltimore's Patterson Park, and a turf field dedicated to the memory of Yeardley Love at Notre Dame Preparatory School.
