Achievements
• One of UW's most decorated players all-time, winning the 2012 Mark H. McCormack Award for the world's No. 1 ranked amateur, earning the Phil Mickelson Freshman of the Year in 2010 and first team All-American status in 2011 & 2012.
• Became the school's all-time wins leader, earning his 5th victory at the Bandon Dunes Championship on March 18, 2012. Has extended his record to 6 wins.
• Moved up to No. 1 on the World Amateur Golf Rankings on July 22-26 and Aug. 8-current (Sept. 18).
• Won the 2012 Western Amateur championship - both stoke play and match play.
• Finished 7th in stroke play at the U.S. Am and advanced all the way to the quarterfinals of match play.
• Will represent the USA at the World Amateur Championships in Turkey.
• Enters 2012-13 with 21 top-10 finishes, 3rd most in UW history.
2011-12 (Junior)
• Ben Hogan Award semifinalist.
• First Team All-Pac-12, First Team All-American by both PING and Golfweek, named to the All-Nicklaus team.
• Tied for or was the Huskies top finisher in 10-of-12 stroke play tournaments.
• Eight top-10 finishes.
• Opened the season by winning the rain-shortened Kikkor Golf Husky Invitational on Sept. 27, his fourth career victory to tie for UW career wins.
• Shot 3-under 210 at the Gifford Intercollegiate to end up 4th.
• Tied for 3rd at the San Diego Intercollegiate.
• Earned career victory No. 5, taking home a six stroke win at the Bandon Dunes Invitational on March 18. Ended up shooting 9-under 204 for the tournament.
• Was named Pac-12 Men's Golfer of the Month for March.
• Just the second Husky to win a NCAA Regional, taking home his sixth career victory at the Norman region. Eagled the final hole to overcome a one-hole deficit.
• UW's top finisher in stroke play at the NCAA Championships, finishing tied for 21st at +3.
• Trailed Julio Vegas 2&1 in match play.
2010-11 (Sophomore)
• 2011 1st Team All-Pac-10, 2011 Palmer Cup Team, 2010 Pac-10 Freshman of the Year, 2010 2nd Team All-Pac-10, 2010 Phil Mickelson Award winner (NCAA's top freshman).
• Finished first or second among Huskies in 18 of 22 team tournaments during his career.
• Won Oregon Duck Invitational, the third victory of his career (tied for 2nd most in UW history).
• Scoring average of 71.16 is the fifth best in UW history.
• Named Pac-10's Golfer of the Month for March after notching a win and second-place finish.
2009-10 (Freshman)
• The first Husky to ever win Pac-10 Freshman of the Year honors, sharing it with USC's T.J. Vopel
• Tied the Olympic Course at Gold Mountain record with a 7-under 65 in the final round of the NCAA West Regional
• Stroke average of 71.14 ties Brock MacKenzie for 3rd all-time in a single season
• Only freshman in UW history to win twice during the season
• Best round of 8-under 63 in the Pac-10 Championships equals the best-ever third-round score in a tournament by a Husky
• Shot ten rounds in the 60s and has a total of 13 rounds under par
• Second overall at the NCAA West Regional with a 6-under 210, including his first-ever hole-in-one on a 205-yard hole
• Tied for ninth at the NCAA Championships
Junior Golf and Personal:
• Four-time Idaho High School 4A state champion and four-time North Idaho Golfer of the Year.
• Earned as high as ninth in Junior Golf Scoreboard rankings.
• 2007 Washington Junior Golf Association (WJGA) State Champion, Player of the Year and Junior Golfer of the Year.
• Third at 2008 Junior Worlds, 27th at 2007 Junior World and 27th at 2007 Junior America's Cup.
• 2008 San Diego Junior Am Champion.
• Graduated from Moscow High School and helped team to 2009 state championship. Team was second in 2008 and fourth in 2007.
• Claims the record at eight courses.
• 4.0 GPA Honor Roll for 2008-09 school year.
• Parents are Linda and Varnel Williams. Has two older brothers, Pete and Jeff, and an older sister, Julie.
• Pete was a professional golfer from 2006-2008 and Jeff played hockey for University of Idaho.
